Was it Something I Ate?

I have no clue what happened to me last night. I was feeling jetlagged and a little queasy after my time at the pool, so I had a late dinner of simple chicken satay and an iced tea at the hotel’s coffee shop and went to bed around 10 pm. Around 11:30 pm I was awakened by my colleague, Michael, to let me know he’d arrived from Germany and to ask what time we should meet for breakfast. No problem, we decided on 9:30, I set my wake up call and went back to sleep.

** Warning, very gross commentary follows, not for the weak of stomach!**

Then, around 2:30 am, I was awakened from a sound sleep by the violent need to vomit. This done I sipped some bottled water and went back to sleep, still feeling slightly ill. An hour later, it happened again. This proceeded every hour, on the half hour, all night long. At 7 am I called the front desk to see when the drug store would be open. Luckily, it opened at 7 am. Sadly, I had to vomit in the hallway on my way there.

I bought some pills and a large bottle of water from the nice lady that was helping me. I proceeded to take the pills, drink some tea (made with the bottled water and a tea bag I’d brought from home) and snooze until 9:30 am breakfast with Michael.

It’s post breakfast (where I filled up on lots of acid absorbing carbs) and I haven’t had to throw up since the incident in the hall, but I still feel wretched. I think I’m going to take a nap.

Well, I am shocked to see how bad you felt, give time to your stomach to settle down specially after so many time changes and jet lag. I am glad you are doing great. I am still alive with mother. Take care, love Dad and Mom
