Knitting Funk

| | Comments (6)

After finishing little Marco's sweater a couple months ago I hit the proverbial wall. I just wasn't interested in picking up my knitting. Prior to that I was a several hour a day knitter. I'd knit at lunch and I'd knit in the evenings when I was home. But something happened and I was done. I even stopped buying yarn!

Luckily, it feels like my knitting groove is returning. I went to Meet Up for the first time in a couple months and actually managed to finish my gorgeous Mimi Devine scarf (an adapted Mimi Very Long from the Knitty blog using Valentina Devine's Gemini yarn). The ladies talked me into thick fringe for the edges and I had just enough yarn left to pull it off. The bigger surprise is I actually love it! I usually hate fringe - but it really works with this project. As it has been literally 100 F in my apartment for the last 3 days there are no pictures, as I cannot bear to put it on. Frankly, I've spent little time at home and what was spent at home was in the shower. This morning the heat wave finally broke in my neck of the woods and the place was a very reasonable 73 F. If it's this cool tonight when I get home I may sweet talk Grant into snapping a picture of me wearing it and post it tomorrow.

I had a bit of funk in May, but now I am in a "work to rule" production slowdown -- I am not producing anything because I keep trying to Get It Right. Even my fun orange top I think needs to have the shoulders pulled out again and shortened. BAH!

Congrats on the lovely Mimi Devine scarf, it really pulled together beautifully.

Dad, could you please read a little more closely? I made a sweater for my friend's baby - Marco. This is the baby I'm talking about.
