Sweat - How I've Missed You!

| | Comments (5)

Ok, maybe I haven't exactly really missed sweating per se, but boy have I missed what causes it, which is that big, beautiful, beaming ball in the sky. Yes folks, the sun. She's come back to me today and I couldn't be happier! I actually sat outside at lunch for the first time in months. And yes, I did sweat, because it was that warm. Seriously, words cannot describe the happiness I'm feeling right now basking in the afterglow of natural warmth. You know, as opposed to all that unnatural warmth brought on by hideous layers of clothing and costly space heaters. T-shirt, jeans and open-toed shoes are back, at least for today! No more nasty cold and rain. Just glorious blue skies! Remind me again why I left So Cal, because right now I just don't know.

As if blue skies and sunshine weren't enough to celebrate it's also the last workday before Easter (hooray for Good Friday off). In my office that means it's Godiva bunny time! I may or may not have mentioned that I have a fantastic boss. My job is often dull, but I stay because my group is great and so is my boss. Oh yeah, that and the paying the bills thing. But my boss is just an all around great guy to work for. He's very task oriented - do your work well and the rest doesn't really matter so much. So my hours are flexible and thanks to our generous vacation plan I get 4 weeks off a year, not including sick days. But, not only is he good about not micro-managing and letting me have a flexible schedule, he also loves chocolate, and sharing it with the rest of us. So at Christmas and Easter each year we get Godiva from him. Totally uncalled for, and incredibly appreciated!

And, as the icing on the cake today, I also got my new work laptop. So bye-bye crashing machine of doom! Yesterday this thing actually just turned itself off on me. I was reading a document and all of a sudden the screen went black. I rebooted and everything was fine, but thank goodness I wasn't in the midst of typing anything or I would have lost my work. The new one is heavier, but I'm ok with that now I think. I guess I have to be, as this one really is on its last leg and they didn't let me order a smaller one.

Happy Easter all!

Does your blog have a contact page? I'm having problems locating it but, I'd like to shoot you an e-mail. I've got some ideas for your blog you might be interested in hearing. Either way, great blog and I look forward to seeing it develop over time.

Ah, the Yarn Lady! I have heard of her wonderful store from my friend Sara. Apparently she has a sale twice a year where all the yarn is something like half off. The catch is you have to buy the whole bag. I think the next one of those events is in June. Want to take a road trip? :)

And look, the big yellow eye is back now! Too bad it was such a rainy Easter weekend.

We retreated to SoCal for Easter weekend, and took the rain with us. It rained all over our family trip to Disneyland. And was much too cold for flip-flops. What's up with that?

Chocolate helps, though. Lots of it.

Oh, and I found a great yarn store in Laguna Hills called Yarn Lady. Love it. They have a whole wall of Noro, including tons of Cash Iroha and Kucheron. I bought some, of course.

It's raining here in L.A. now, so naturally everyone is freaking out. Sigh.

Hey, at least I can hold off on washing my car.

If only, if only it would be sunny this weekend. But no, it will be sunrise services in the rain for me. ARGH!

Please do all in your power to bring back the big yellow eye!
